Bilbao, Spain / Barcelona, Spain – October 7th, 2026. Barbara, the Industrial Edge AI platform provider, and EdgeAI Solutions, an Industrial Edge AI architecture and deployment company, today announced a partnership to help IPC and Edge AI manufacturers deploy at scale while addressing the requirements of the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). EdgeAI Solutions will define the target architecture and coordinate the CRA-readiness approach, while Barbara provides the software platform that runs and sustains it across the device lifecycle.

From a compliance requirement to a competitive edge

As Edge AI moves from proofs of concept to real industrial deployments, IPC and Edge AI manufacturers face a challenge that goes beyond the hardware itself: giving customers a clear path to deploy, manage and maintain fleets of connected edge devices throughout their lifecycle, while meeting CRA obligations on vulnerability handling, incident reporting and long-term security support, obligations already partly in force.

This partnership splits that work along a clear line. EdgeAI Solutions assesses a manufacturer's CRA and system readiness and designs a governed deployment architecture that embeds lifecycle and compliance requirements from the start, working with the hardware and OT the manufacturer already has. Manufacturers then run that architecture on Barbara: with Barbara Core, a hardened-by-design edge operating system and management agent, on every device, and Barbara Panel to deploy, monitor and update applications and AI models remotely across the fleet, offered powered-by-Barbara or under the manufacturer's own brand. The result is a reference configuration that is CRA-ready by design and operable in production, developed as an optional service layer that complements the manufacturer's existing hardware, support and integration capabilities, without disrupting its current commercial or channel model.

‍

“Manufacturers shouldn't have to choose between shipping hardware and being ready for the CRA. EdgeAI Solutions defines the architecture a manufacturer needs to build CRA readiness into the solution by design, and Barbara is the platform that keeps that architecture running and up to date once devices are in the field. Together we give manufacturers a path that works in production, not just on a slide.”
Tony Bryant, SVP of Partnerships & Sales at Barbara

Early collaborations already under way

The first reference configurations and collaborations with IPC manufacturers are already being explored. Barbara and EdgeAI Solutions will continue developing edge ready reference configurations around selected IPC and Edge AI platforms for the European market.

‍

“CRA readiness is an architectural decision, not a checklist. We design that architecture to be vendor-neutral, and pairing it with a platform like Barbara means manufacturers can actually operate it: deploy, monitor and keep every device up to date across its lifecycle, without changing how they sell today.”
Jordi Gutiérrez, Managing Director at EdgeAI Solutions
