Partnerships

Bilbao, Spain / Henderson, Nevada, USA – September 9th, 2026. Barbara, the Industrial Edge AI platform provider, and Velasea, the manufacturer of industrial edge computing hardware, today announced a partnership to simplify the rollout of applications and AI models at industrial sites. Velasea will configure and supply industrial PCs tested for Barbara, while customers will use Barbara to deploy and operate software across those systems.

From hardware procurement to fleet operations

Getting an industrial edge deployment running takes two kinds of work. First the hardware: choosing a system suited to the site, sourcing the components, configuring and imaging it, and confirming the software will run as expected. Then the operations: installing applications and AI models, keeping them updated, and repeating that at every location. Today both usually fall to the same OT team, which slows the rollout and leaves more systems to support.

This partnership splits that work along a clear line. Velasea takes the hardware: it sources components, builds and images each system, and ships installation-ready, industrial-grade devices to integrators and end users, tested and pre-certified for Barbara. Customers can specify and order them through Velasea’s IPC configurator at ipc.velasea.com.

“When a software partner brings us an opportunity, our job is to take the hardware work off its plate. We configure, build, image and ship the system ready for the site. Pairing that service with Barbara gives customers a practical way to roll out Barbara and Ignition across industrial locations.”
Jimmy Hunt, VP of Sales & Marketing at Velasea

Barbara takes over where the hardware ends. Because each device arrives already prepared for the platform, operators can use Barbara to deploy, monitor and update applications and AI models across the fleet as soon as a system is installed, drawing on the ready-to-deploy industrial applications in Barbara Marketplace. Workloads run close to the assets and data they serve, and teams keep control of their operational data. The result is a shorter path from order to a running deployment, and one way to manage every site without maintaining each device by hand.

“Our customers want to focus on running software at the edge. Velasea takes responsibility for the hardware including Industrial PC component sourcing, system configuration, imaging and delivery of installation-ready systems to our integrators and end users. Each company is focused on what it does well, and our customers get a shorter route from procurement to a working deployment.”
Tony Bryant, Senior VP of Sales & Partnerships at Barbara

Built for the Ignition® community

Barbara and Velasea are both partners of Inductive Automation, the maker of Ignition®. Customers can run Ignition SCADA on the same tested hardware and software combination, alongside other industrial applications managed through Barbara Panel.

Both companies will exhibit at the Ignition Community Conference (ICC) 2026 in Sacramento. Meet the Barbara and Velasea teams at the event to discuss hardware configurations, Barbara deployments and the use of Ignition at the edge.
